Kssour Agafay is a 16th century riad in the heart of the Marrakech Medina. One of the oldest riads in the Medina, it is the only riad to have the courtyard on the first floor. Once home to a Moroccan Noble family, “Chorfa el Meslohian” Kssour Agafay was built five hundred years ago as a home and a place to entertain stately visitors. The riad fell into disrepair through the 20th century and was bought by the present owners in 1997 and faithfully restored over a period of three years. Kssour Agafay still has many of it's original 16th century features, including painted wood ceilings, hand carved plaster wall decorations and arches, intricately tiled walls and 4 meter high doors.

The Unesco has listed the entire Marrakech medina as a world heritage sight and Kssour Agafay is just a few minutes walk from Jamaa el Fna the world famous square full of story tellers, acrobats, performers and street vendors. Other historic monuments, including the Koutoubia mosque, the Medrasa ben yousef Quaranic school and the Bahia palace are all within walking distance of Kssour agafay.
